We received this gown with the following letter:
“I got married on the 3rd of May 1986 at 11h00.
I hope you can use the material of my dress and that it will bring some healing to a mom who has lost her baby. My daughter had a miscarriage at 12 weeks and it was heartbreaking for all of us.
My neighbour and best friend had 8 miscarriages, lost a baby on 22 weeks and a girl was stillborn 2 years ago. They have a girl who is now 8 years old and after all their losses they have a beautiful girl of 6 months now!
The material of my dress was R39,00; I paid the lady who made it R52,00; my shoes were R18,99; my husband’s cost R32,13 and he still wears it; his suit was R109,99; shirt 8,99. Can you believe it?!!!
