I first came into contact with Nicci when TAGI was still very much in an infancy stage – If I remember correctly, at that time TAGI was still only a CSI project of my former fashion house. Unfortunately we were unable to assist her, or doulas in general, as we simply did not have the capacity for such an undertaking. Fast forward to almost 2 years later and just look how privileged we are; Successfully supporting almost 40 hospitals across 7 provinces, as well as 2 in Namibia.
Since then Nicci kept in contact and we even built a friendship. She held a dress drive for us, we are included in her training (a first for us) and now we are proud to announce that we will, in another first for us, expand beyond hospitals and start working with DOSA Doulas directly. It is through this collaboration that TAGI will be able to assist more members of the public, and hopefully also create awareness of the great work a properly trained Doula brings to any pregnancy, not only those that end in infant loss.
Nicci has been very patient, understanding and extremely helpful in cementing the foundation for this collaboration between TAGI and DOSA Doulas. For that we genuinely thank her. We also thank the entire DOSA team for their assistance. May we all continue to grow from strength to strength in this beautiful new collaboration.
The official press release is below and all credit goes to Nicci Coertze for writing it up – I could not put it better myself. If you would like to apply please feel free to contact me directly on eric.elronde@tagi.co.za and I will send through the necessary paperwork.
